Product Status Update
Aug 18, 2025 1:30 pm ET
We continue to maintain an elevated level of security. There are no changes at this time, and our team continues to actively monitor the situation.
The below protections are still in place:
GiveSmart Fundraise:
-
Embedded forms are currently unavailable. If donors experience issues accessing these forms, please direct them to the public link to your GiveSmart form to complete their donation.
-
-
This Help Center article will guide you in locating the public link to your Fundraise form: https://support.givesmart.com/help/where-can-i-find-the-public-link-to-my-form
-
GiveSmart Events + Fundraise:
-
Limits on Rapid Repeated Actions – If someone attempts the same action (such as submitting a payment) too quickly or too many times in a row, the system may temporarily block them to stop automated testing of stolen cards.
-
Note: If a user sees the error message due to hitting the threshold they should wait 60 seconds and try again.
-
-
Human Verification Challenges – Users may see CAPTCHA puzzles or similar tests to confirm they are not automated programs.
-
Tighter Automated Traffic Screening – We’ve increased our sensitivity to traffic that looks automated. In some cases, legitimate users may be challenged or blocked if their activity resembles high-risk patterns.
-
Note: If a legitimate user is unable to access the product, please contact our Support team at support@givesmart.com for assistance.

For the time being, we are maintaining an elevated level of security. While these measures help protect your organization and donors, they may occasionally create extra steps for legitimate users or temporarily block activity that appears suspicious. This means some normal business processes could be affected by higher-than-usual false positives.
As of now, we are disabling the following measure:
-
Extra Verification for New Cards – Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required when adding a new credit card in GiveSmart Events to ensure the user’s identity
