Adapting for Your Donors: How to Use GiveSmart’s Research Study

GiveSmart_2022 Research Study_Blog Header_960x380

GiveSmart collaborated with FINN Partners to survey over 500 nonprofit fundraising and development professionals on technology adoption and use within their organizations, and the impact of technology on giving and the donor experience.

With the study, GiveSmart gained invaluable insight into why nonprofits need technology for continued growth and success, and how nonprofits who adopted tech early have raised more and learned more about their donors. Nonprofits are growing, changing, and using the resources available to them to improve their donor experience.

“This is how we’ve always done it,” won’t cut it anymore.

What is in the research study?

Did you know that 95% of fundraising professionals know that technology will be important to meeting their 2022 goals? Organizations not only want technology to meet their needs but in the growing and changing landscape of fundraising, they need technology to meet and exceed their needs.

In this study, you can expect to find data surrounding:

  • The impact of technology on an organization’s understanding of their donor experience
  • How technology influences donor retention
  • Why inherited technology and duplicate tools are pain points for an organization’s staff
  • The importance of a single solution with top-tier security
  • And more!

Only one in five nonprofits* believe their current technology solution(s) can meet their future needs.

Why do nonprofits need the data in this study?

For this research study, nonprofit professionals across the U.S. provided honest, detailed feedback for their peers. Our team assessed every data point provided to pull key takeaways and construct a study that provides nonprofits with answers to some of their most asked questions.

What is the future of technology in fundraising? What experiences do donors have with fundraising technology? How are nonprofits locating donors within their ideal donor journey or funnel?

What our clients say

We needed a platform to make sales online and to track and display ads for our sponsors. GiveSmart was perfect. We ended up making close to $15,000 more than we had hoped for. Definite better ROI than we anticipated. The interface is easy to use and provides plenty of options to get help if needed.

Using GS has created ease in auction bookkeeping, payments, and generating post-event thank you/tax letters. While we were online during COVID, our interactions with our GiveSmart via phone, email, and zoom were seamless. A representative always got back to us within the day. I would recommend GiveSmart to anyone doing a large online event.

GiveSmart is highly flexible - you can use it for [a] simple registration and check-in, to full-scale galas with complex order forms, onsite upsells, live auctions, seating management, and more.

GiveSmart is easy to use and ideal for virtual events and can be used for in-person events to manage the silent auction, seating charts, and check-in to the event. Being able to use the platform for unlimited events within the contract year is very useful and being able to add other users and volunteers for different levels of access is helpful as well.
