Challenge

Solution

India’s wildlife is under severe threat – every animal, from the majestic elephant and the tiger, to bears, and rare pangolins have fast become “the hunted.” Wildlife SOS helps to protect the environment and at-risk wildlife from animal cruelty. Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani dedicated themselves to eradicating wildlife abuse. Geeta knew online giving, crowdfunding, and mobile messaging could offer the support they needed for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation and ultimately increase survival rates but needed help on how to get started. Wildlife SOS learned about Sanjay, an elephant subjected to the underworld of illegal elephant trafficking and trade that had been severely abused for years. They had only 24 hours to rescue Sanjay or risk losing him forever.

They launched an online and mobile messaging campaign for him immediately, and supporters worldwide came through with an overwhelming display of compassion and support.
With [GiveSmart] solutions, Wildlife SOS expanded its reach about rescue missions with text message alerts (Text WILD to 51555), allowed its supporters to extend their efforts through crowdfunding, and provided recurring gift options to their donors on mobile-friendly donation pages.

Impact
