Frequently Asked Questions to Import Existing Donor Data

We realize that many nonprofits will have existing data that needs to be imported into their GiveSmart Donor CRM. We have created this guide for you to understand the options for your organization.

Q:  Do you offer data conversion services?
A:  Yes!  We can help your organization from start to finish with moving your data from your existing system to GiveSmart Donor CRM.  We help you export your data, and then analyze the data for any missing or unusual data elements.  Examples could include names or addresses which are not split into individual fields (such as First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State and ZIP Code). We also look for missing data, as well as identify unusual data, such as negative gift amounts, unusual data characters (typically symbols, numbers, or spaces), or dates which are in the future.  We then help you map your existing data to the fields within GiveSmart Donor CRM via a mapping appointment, where we walk through all of your data fields and discuss where they will go in the new program.  Finally, we transfer the information.  From start to finish, the process takes one to three weeks, with only a couple of days of ‘downtime’ when you can start using your system.

Q: Can you convert my data from programs like Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, eTapestry, DonorPerfect, Bloomerang, Little Green Light, NeonCRM, Exceed, etc.?

Q:  What about security?  And do you ever share my data with anyone else?
A:  Your data is always owned by you and will *never* be shared without your consent (and that’s only to make sure we can use your data to provide you a great website experience!).
