C.J. Orrico joined GiveSmart™ in 2013 as a former licensee of the GiveSmart™ technology. As a Chicago native, recent Arizona and California resident, and now calling Atlanta home, he developed industry experience and knowledge by learning all of the unique, non-profit and event traits that vary from market-to-market across the country. Having passion and love for helping non-profits realize their true fundraising potential, he and his partner Kenny Wall made the decision to no longer license the GiveSmart™ technology and instead merge their entity with GiveSmart™.
This merger allowed them to maintain their team, customers, and culture they have built, while maximizing their resources in effort to support their charity partners with more security, infrastructure, and overall comfort than ever before. Through the merger C.J. was appointed Chief Sales and Business Development Officer and currently works in the Atlanta Corporate Headquarters.
Prior to the merger and current role as CSBDO of GiveSmart™, C.J. entered the industry as a founding partner of Global AuctionsByCellular and Managing Partner of SOTD DBA AuctionsByCellular in March of 2011. While working to grow AuctionsByCellular from its inception to the management of the actual merger, his day-to-day role was similar to his current focus of, core sales and business development through market and asset growth.
Prior to entering the industry, C.J. was Managing Partner of a PuroClean franchise where he also concentrated on Sales and Business Development. As PuroClean was a water, fire, mold, and biohazard mitigation business, it was this experience where C.J. realized he enjoyed helping families in need and was able to grow this passion through the charity fundraising industry.
Prior to developing PuroClean, he was Director of Business Development, Weigel Broadcasting, Chicago and prior to that Business Development Manager and Account Executive. C.J. began his career with Weigel Broadcasting in 1999, and took a five year hiatus from the company from 2001 through 2006, to fulfill some entrepreneurial goals of opening an Edward Jones Investments branch and partner in the invention of the hammY™ putter. C.J. left Weigel permanently in 2009 to return to his entrepreneurial roots.
Recently celebrating his 15th wedding anniversary and as a father of four, C.J. loves coaching and being an involved father and husband. In his free time he enjoys golf, racquetball, ping-pong, and most sporting activities, as well as is an avid fan of the NFL.
